Michelle Yeoh screaming in the latest trailer for A Haunting in Venice.

20th Century Studios have released a new trailer for A Haunting in Venice, Kenneth Brangh‘s third outing as Hercule Poirot following Murder on the Orient Express (2017) and Death on the Nile (2022). The film is slated to open in cinemas in the UK on September 15.

A Haunting in Venice is set in eerie, post-World War II Venice on All Hallows’ Eve and is a terrifying mystery featuring the return of the celebrated sleuth, Hercule Poirot. Now retired and living in self-imposed exile in the world’s most glamorous city, Poirot reluctantly attends a séance at a decaying, haunted palazzo. When one of the guests is murdered, the detective is thrust into a sinister world of shadows and secrets.

Joining Branagh for his latest murder mystery are Kyle Allen (Rosaline), Camille Cottin (Call My Agent), Jamie Dornan (Belfast), Tina Fey (30 Rock), Jude Hill (Belfast), Ali Khan (6 Underground), Emma Laird (Mayor of Kingstown), Kelly Reilly (Yellowstone), Riccardo Scamarcio (Caravaggio’s Shadow), and Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All at Once).

Branagh will once again direct his latest murder mystery with a screenplay by Oscar-nominee Michael Green based upon Agatha Christie’s novel Hallowe’en Party.

Back in April, it was announced that Oscar-winning composer Hildur Guðnadóttir (Joker) had signed on to score the film. The previous two entries in the franchise were scored by Kenneth Branagh’s long-time collaborator, Patrick Doyle.

A Haunting in Venice looks like it will take the murder-mystery franchise to dark new places, which is a very exciting prospect. Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile currently sit at 61% and 62% respectively on the Tomatometer.
