Emilia Clarke Stars In New Clip From Sci-Fi Rom-Com ‘The Pod Generation’

Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rosalie Craig, and Emilia Clarke in The Pod Generation (2023)

Vertical Entertainment & Roadside Attractions have shared a new clip from Sophie Barthes’ sci-fi rom-com The Pod Generation, starring Emilia Clarke and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

A New York couple, Rachel (Clarke) and Alvy (Ejiofor) live in a not-so-distant future where technology provides ever-more convenient living. A rising tech company executive, Rachel lands a coveted spot at the Womb Center, which offers couples a convenient (and shareable) maternity by way of detachable artificial wombs, or pods. But Alvy, a botanist with an affection for nature, prefers a natural pregnancy. And yet, as Rachel’s AI therapist puts it, why is that natural? So begins the tech-paved path to parenthood.

Also part of the cast alongside Clarke (Marvel’s Secret Invasion) and Ejiofor (The Man Who Fell to Earth) are Rosalie Craig (1899, The Tower), Vinette Robinson (The Lazarus Project), Kathryn Hunter, and Jean-Marc Barr (This is the End).

The Pod Generation had its premiere at Sundance Film Festival earlier this year where it was then acquired by Vertical Entertainment and Roadside Attractions for distribution in the US.

The Pod Generation opens in US theaters August 11.
