MGM have shared a new clip from Emma Seligman’s new comedy Bottoms, starring Rachel Sennott, who she co-wrote the screenplay with. The film will open in select theaters across the US on August 25 before opening in more theaters on September 1.
Bottoms, a refreshingly unique raunchy comedy, focuses on two girls, PJ and Josie, who start a fight club as a way to lose their virginities to cheerleaders. Their bizarre plan works. The fight club gains traction and soon the most popular girls in school are beating each other up in the name of self-defense. But PJ and Josie find themselves in over their heads and in need of a way out before their plan is exposed.

Starring alongside Shiva Baby‘s Sennott are Ayo Edebiri (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem), Havana Rose Liu (The Sky is Everywhere), Kaia Gerber (Babylon), Nicholas Galitzine (Red, White & Royal Blue), Ruby Cruz (Mare of Easttown), Dagmara Domińczyk (Succession), and Marshawn Lynch (80 for Brady).
The film currently sits at an impressive 97% on Rotten Tomatoes with 31 reviews – with the general critic consensus being “Propulsive and over-the-top, Bottoms is an instant high school comedy classic that feels both current and nostalgic“.
