MGM have shared the first trailer for Garth Davis’ Foe, starring Saoirse Ronan, Paul Mescal, and Aaron Pierre. The film is set to open in US theaters on October 6, 2023.
Hen & Junior farm a secluded piece of land that has been in Junior’s family for generations, but their quiet life is thrown into turmoil when an uninvited stranger shows up at their door with a startling proposal. Foe’s mesmerizing imagery and persistent questions about the nature of humanity (and artificial humanity) bring the not-too-distant future to luminous life.
Foe is an adaptation of Iain Reid’s 2018 novel of the same name, and Reid co-wrote the screenplay with director Davis (Lion).
The film is set to have its premiere at the New York Fim Festival this year, which takes place from September 29 – October 15.
A UK date for the film is still to be confirmed.
